USA – Georgia-Pacific , one of the world’s largest manufacturers of forest products and related chemicals, announced that Christian Fischer, president and CEO, will retire at the end of October 2025. He will begin transitioning his responsibilities in August.
Fischer joined Georgia-Pacific in 1989 and was appointed president and CEO in 2017. “We thank Christian for his 35 years of significant contribution to Georgia-Pacific and 40 years in the forest products industry,” said Mark Luetters, who will succeed him as president and CEO while continuing as executive vice president of Koch, Inc.
Luetters, who joined Koch in 1989 and Georgia-Pacific in 2006, previously led GP’s building products division for nine years. He will guide the company through this transition until a new permanent CEO is named in 2026.
Based in Atlanta, Georgia-Pacific produces many of its forest-based products from its own timber, with a global footprint in tissue, paper, packaging, panels and construction materials.
