BRAZIL –   The International Fair for Suppliers to the Wood and Furniture Production Chain (Fimma Brasil) is taking a major step toward sustainability. Its 17th edition, scheduled for August 4–7, 2025, in Bento Gonçalves (RS), will be a carbon-neutral event powered entirely by renewable energy.

All electricity used during setup, the four-day event, and dismantling will come from 100% renewable sources, certified by the internationally recognized IREC (International REC Standard), ensuring full traceability of clean and sustainable energy.

The certification will be issued by Ludfor, a company with over 30 years of experience in renewable energy solutions and responsible for offsetting carbon emissions at the event venue. “Bringing international certification to Fimma shows that renewable energy is a concrete tool for transforming the productive sector,” said Maikon Perin, market intelligence executive at Ludfor.

Euclides Longhi, president of the Rio Grande do Sul Furniture Industry Association (Movergs), which has organized Fimma Brasil since 1993, emphasized that the initiative marks a milestone in the fair’s environmental responsibility. “In addition to offsetting direct carbon emissions, this reinforces our commitment to the environment and encourages energy transition in the production sector. It’s more than just an initiative—it’s a strategic choice that strengthens the environmental reputation of our exhibitors and visitors,” he noted.

Fimma Brasil is among the five most important trade fairs globally in its segment. In 2025, the event will host more than 300 national and international suppliers from the wood and furniture supply chain, showcasing solutions for industries, carpenters, designers, architects, and other professionals.

A new feature, the Innovation Square, will offer immersive experiences, connections with startups, and free lectures on topics such as woodworking, industry, architecture, and innovation.
