ECUADOR – Ecuador imported USD 15.56 million worth of panel decor paper in the first five months of 2025 (5M-2025), reflecting an 8.9% year-on-year increase, according to customs data.

This rise was primarily fueled by strong import growth from Austria and Italy, which together accounted for over half the increase.

Among supplying countries Austria stood out with a 78.2% surge in exports to Ecuador, reaching nearly USD 4 million. Italy followed with a 25.8% increase, totaling USD 4.6 million. Meanwhile, Spain registered a sharp decline of 28.7%, and Brazil remained stable with a modest 0.5% uptick.

In terms of supplier brands, Schattdecor led the market with over USD 6 million in exports, a 66.2% increase from the previous year. Impress and Imegasa also showed impressive gains of 72.2% and 61.1%, respectively. On the other hand, Interprint dropped by 29.1%, and the category of other brands plummeted by 90.6%.

On the importer side, Novopan del Ecuador strengthened its dominant position with a 9.9% rise, reaching USD 14.3 million, while Aglomerados Cotopaxi saw a slight 1.1% decline.
