CHILE –  Chile exported USD 24.53 million in particleboard/MDP between January and March 2025 (1Q-2025), representing a 2.7% increase over the same period in 2024.

The rise was driven by higher shipments to key markets such as Costa Rica (+42.9%), Guatemala (+21.7%), and Colombia (+5.1%).

Mexico remained the leading destination with USD 8.57 million (+5.0%), followed by Colombia and Peru, although exports to Peru declined by 12.2%. Ecuador and “Other” markets also recorded double-digit drops.

On the exporter’s side, Arauco maintained its leadership with USD 19.24 million, up 3.9% year-on-year. Masisa reported a slight decrease of 1.3%, totaling USD 5.29 million in exports.

Despite some declines in individual markets, the overall positive performance reflects steady demand in Latin America, especially from Central American countries, strengthening Chile’s role as a regional supplier.
