ECUADOR –  Ecuador’s particleboard exports reached USD 64.8 million between January and April 2025 (4M-2025), reflecting a 3.5% decline compared to the same period in 2024.

Despite the overall drop, the performance varied notably by destination. Peru became Ecuador’s top market, importing USD 28 million, a robust 28% increase over the previous year. Mexico also recorded significant growth of 25.8%, with shipments totaling over USD 2 million.

In contrast, exports to Colombia—previously the leading buyer—fell sharply by 26.5%, to USD 27.3 million. Exports to other markets surged 31%, indicating expanding diversification.

At the exporter level, Novopan del Ecuador accounted for the vast majority of the country’s particleboard exports, totaling USD 63.9 million, though this represented a 3.5% decline year-over-year. Aglomerados Cotopaxi, Ecuador’s second-largest exporter in the category, shipped just USD 686,000, a drop of 24.9%.
