Mixed Results for Italy’s Top Furniture Companies

ITALY – The latest available data (2023) shows that Italy’s top furniture companies experienced mixed results, with some achieving growth while others faced setbacks.

Friul Intagli remained at the top with EUR 865.8 million in sales, although it saw a 7.7% decline compared to 2022. Specializing in furniture components and flat pack furniture, the company maintained solid profitability with EUR 78.7 million in net profits.

In the luxury furniture market, Minotti and Poltrona Frau delivered strong performance, with Minotti reaching EUR 220.4 million in sales and EUR 57.7 million in net profits. Poltrona Frau followed closely, generating EUR 219 millionin sales and achieving EUR 27.2 million in profits.

Molteni & C. and Poliform also posted growth, with Molteni seeing a 4.8% increase and Poliform growing by 8.7%. On the other hand, Natuzzi, a well-known brand in upholstered furniture, experienced a significant 33.8% drop in sales, resulting in a loss of EUR 16.2 million.

In the kitchen furniture segment, Veneta Cucine and Lube Industries posted steady results, reflecting resilience in a challenging market.

Despite the mixed results, this data reinforces that Italy’s furniture sector remains a global leader, adapting to shifting consumer preferences and maintaining innovation in design and manufacturing.
