ITALY  – Biesse Group has reported a decline in its 2024 financial results, citing external economic and geopolitical challenges affecting the sector.

Sales fell 3,9% to EUR 754.7 million, while EBITDA dropped 23,5% to EUR 58.9 million. Net profit plummeted 69.6% to €3.8 million, and the EBITDA margin declined from 9.8% to 7.8%.

Nicola Sautto, Chief Financial Officer of Biesse Group, highlighted several key factors impacting performance: restrictive monetary policies affecting interest rates, slow adoption of Industry 5.0 incentives, tariff conflicts with the U.S., escalating geopolitical tensions, and disruptions in global supply chains, particularly in the Suez Canal and the Red Sea.

Despite the challenging climate, the company remains committed to its strategic transformation under the One Company project, accelerating its three-year plan (2024-2026) with a strong focus on cost rationalization and financial stability. Sautto noted that Biesse’s order portfolio fell to EUR 255 million from EUR 282 million in December 2023, despite the positive impact of acquiring GMM Group.

Looking ahead, Sautto warned that the economic slowdown is expected to persist for at least six more months, reinforcing the company’s need to adapt to the evolving market landscape.

Biesse Group, founded in 1969 and based in Pesaro, Italy, is a global leader in manufacturing machinery for processing wood, glass, stone, and advanced materials.
