AUSTRIA – The Egger Group has significantly improved its sustainability performance, earning top honors in two prestigious sustainability ratings.

The family-owned wood-based material manufacturer has, for the first time, been awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal and has once again achieved Prime Status in the ISS ESG rating.

Egger’s commitment to sustainability is reflected in its focus on continuous improvement, transparency, and evidence-based reporting. “Sustainable management is not just a phrase to us; we maintain high standards and are constantly striving for improvement,” said Thomas Leissing, CFO and Spokesman for Group Management.

This marks the sixth time that Egger’s sustainability efforts have been recognized by EcoVadis, placing the company in the top 5% of global companies. EcoVadis assessed Egger on 21 criteria covering areas such as environment, labor rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

For the fifth consecutive time, Egger has earned Prime Status in the ISS ESG rating, an award given to the best companies in their industries. The company is now recognized as the industry leader in its sector by ISS ESG.

In a further demonstration of its commitment to sustainability, Egger has launched its first sustainability journal, VALUABLE. The journal provides in-depth insights into various sustainability projects at its global plants, including the expansion of renewable energy at its St. Johann site in Austria and the recycling of wood at the Hexham plant in the UK.
