ECUADOR – Novopan, a leader in the wood based panels industry, continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability through active participation in the Recycling Lab, Latin America’s first thematic park focused on promoting the circular economy and responsible consumption.
The initiative encourages sustainable business practices, environmental education, and recyclable waste management.
Since March 2023, Novopan has played a key role in raising environmental awareness in Quito. Key actions include:
- Hosting visits to its production plant and Pelikano experience centers, showcasing how wood waste is transformed into new products and highlighting the importance of recycling.
- Collecting wood waste from the public at the Recycling Lab, which is then recycled and used in Novopan’s production, closing the material’s life cycle.
- Providing financial support to ensure the continued operation of this environmental initiative.
Pamela Delgado, Novopan’s Brand Manager, states, “By using recycled materials in our products, we’ve positioned ourselves as leaders in the circular economy and waste reduction. This approach not only boosts our operational efficiency but also promotes planet-friendly practices, encouraging recycling and sustainable behavior in the community.”
Novopan’s involvement aligns with several UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 12 (Responsible Production and Consumption), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 15 (Life on Land), supporting the circular economy, reducing waste, and promoting forest conservation.
Through this initiative, Novopan shows that innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand, leading the way toward a greener, more responsible future for Ecuador and the world.
