USA – Wayfair, one of the world’s largest online furniture and home goods retailers, today announced its financial results for the third quarter of 2024, ending September 30.

Sales revenue reached USD 2.9 billion, a decrease of 2.0%, compared to the same period last year. Sales revenue in the U.S. was USD 2.5 billion, down 2.3% year over year. International sales revenue totaled USD 372 million. The company reported a net loss of USD 74 million for the period.

In a statement, Niraj Shah, CEO, co-founder, and co-chairman of Wayfair, said: “Q3-2024 marked another proofpoint of resilience for Wayfair as we continued to capture market share despite ongoing challenges in the category. We’ve managed a dynamic consumer environment while focusing on cost discipline, which allowed us to achieve a mid-single-digit Adjusted EBITDA margin for the second consecutive quarter. Our primary focus remains on generating Adjusted EBITDA that exceeds equity-based compensation and capital expenditures, and we’re making notable progress in these areas.”

Shah added, “We are committed to driving healthy profitability while positioning ourselves for future success as the category rebounds. Our key goal for 2024 is to foster customer loyalty and increase repeat business, all while creating lasting value. We are focused not just on short-term gains, but on building enduring customer relationships that will benefit both our top and bottom lines in the long run.”

Wayfair ended Q3-2024 with 21.7 million active customers, reflecting a 2.7% decrease year over year.
