ITALY – Biesse Group , a global leader in technologies for processing wood, has reported mixed results for the January to September period of 2024 (9M-2024), with a decline in sales and profitability, though it saw growth in some key regions.
For the first nine months of 2024, the group’s sales totaled EUR 560.8 million, a 5.9% decrease compared to EUR 595.7 million in 9M-2023. EBITDA also saw a significant decline, dropping by 29.8%, from EUR 62.7 million in 2023 to EUR 44 million in 9M-2024.
This reduction in EBITDA was reflected in the EBITDA margin, which fell from 10.5% to 7.8%, a decrease of 2.7 percentage points. In terms of profitability, Biesse Group reported a profit of EUR 2.6 million, down 83.6% from EUR 15.9 million in the same period last year.
Regionally, sales in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) decreased by 15%, from EUR 413.6 million in 2023 to EUR 351.6 million in 2024. However, Biesse experienced growth in the Americas and Asia-Pacific regions.
In the Americas, sales increased by 12.2%, reaching EUR 132 million compared to EUR 117.6 million in 9M-2023. In Asia-Pacific, sales grew by 19.8%, rising from EUR 64.4 million in 9M-2023 to EUR 77.2 million in 9M-2024.
In summary, Biesse Group faced challenges in sales and profitability during the first nine months of 2024, particularly in the EMEA region, though it showed signs of growth in the Americas and Asia-Pacific.
