Strong Recovery in Argentinian Decor Paper Imports

ARGENTINA – Argentina’s imports of wooden panel decor paper from January to July 2024 totaled USD 15.3 million, showing notable growth compared to USD 3.2 million in the same period of 2022.

Although this represents a 16.4% decrease from USD 18.3 million in 2023, the overall trend reflects a significant recovery in the decor paper market.

Brazil remained the largest supplier, with imports valued at USD 9.4 million, down 1.5%. China saw a substantial increase of 74.9%, reaching USD 2.8 million.

In contrast, imports from Germany plummeted 64.5% to USD 2.0 million, while Italy experienced a 104.3% rise, totaling USD 735 thousand. Imports from other countries fell 69.5% to USD 356 thousand.

Among importers, Arauco / Alto Parana led with USD 10.7 million, a 14% increase. Egger Argentina reported a 49.1% decline to USD 3.3 million, and Sadepan Latinoamericana decreased by 38.7% to USD 788 thousand. Other importers contributed USD 514 thousand.
