GERMANY – A new format debuts at LIGNA’s anniversary edition in 2025: LIGNA.Circular. From May 26 to 30, 2025, Hall 12 at the Hannover Fairground in Germany will spotlight a pressing topic for the woodworking industry: circular transformation in wood processing.
Under the motto “Thinking in Circles,” LIGNA organizers are collaborating with Cademi, a company skilled in developing successful formats in the furniture sector. Cademi will be represented by its founders, Christof Flötotto and Andre Hempel.
LIGNA.Circular connects to the central theme of LIGNA.Sustainable Production, focusing on economically viable approaches that protect the environment while enhancing working conditions within the industry.
“With LIGNA.Circular, we aim to highlight a critical topic: circularity and the resource cycle. Our primary goal is to foster an active community through moderated events where best practices and challenges related to circular value creation can be shared,” says Stephanie Wagner, Project Manager of LIGNA at Deutsche Messe AG. “As the first point of contact for a community dedicated to the circular economy in woodworking, LIGNA.Circular intends to bridge gaps between users, service providers, manufacturers, and craftsmen,” she adds.
Strong industry participation is essential to ensure the relevance and impact of LIGNA.Circular as an innovation network. It also aims to enhance cooperation with relevant cross-sector industries. This interdisciplinary collaboration is intended to drive practical solutions and promote circular transformation effectively.
“A sustainable circular transformation requires commitment from all stakeholders, along with the right mindset, skills, and methods,” emphasizes Andre Hempel, Co-Founder of Cademi. “Our goal is to establish this format sustainably within the industry over the long term. LIGNA.Circular is meant to be a platform that serves as a catalyst for sustainable developments,” adds Christof Flötotto, the second Co-Founder of Cademi.
