Spanish Particleboard Exports to LATAM Up 58.8% in 6M-2024

SPAIN – From January to July 2024, Spain has seen a general increase in particleboard / MDP exports, reaching a total of USD 76.5 million, a 58.8% rise from USD 48.2 million in 6M-2023.

Among the countries showing the most significant improvements compared to last year, Peru leads with a 49.2% increase, reaching USD 38.2 million in 6M-2024 from USD 25.6 million in 6M-2023. Mexico has also seen a notable improvement with a 92.8% rise, amounting to USD 12.8 million in 6M-2024, compared to USD 6.5 million the previous year.

Colombia has experienced a remarkable 128.5% increase, with Spanish exports reaching USD 7.5 million from USD 3.3 million in 6M-2023. Panama has shown the highest relative growth with a 138.7% increase, reaching USD 4.1 million, up from USD 1.7 million in 6M-2023.

Costa Rica, though with a more moderate growth of 36.1%, has moved into a prominent position with Spanish particleboard exports of USD 3.4 million, surpassing Ecuador, which increased its Spanish exports by 120.9% to 1.7 million, and Guatemala, which saw a 15.6% increase with Spanish exports of USD 1.4 million.

These figures highlight a dynamic growth in Spanish exports, with several countries showing significant improvements in their MDP import volumes.
