Ecuadorian Decor Paper Imports Rise 8.7% in 6M-2024

ECUADOR – In the first half of 2024 (6M-2024), Ecuador saw an increase in imports of decor paper for wooden panels, reaching a total value of USD 16.44 million. This represents an 8.7% rise compared to USD 15.12 million during the same period in 2023.

Spain remained the top supplier country, with imports totaling USD 5.72 million, a 28.7% increase from the previous year. Italy also saw substantial growth, with imports reaching USD 4.38 million, up 39.8%. Brazil, however, experienced a slight decrease of 1.4%, with imports totaling USD 3.63 million. Austria faced a significant decline of 30.6%, with imports falling to USD 2.68 million.

Among supplier brands, Schattdecor led with imports of USD 4.49 million, a 7.1% increase from 6M-2023. Interprint followed with USD 3.29 million, reflecting a 19.3% rise. Coveright showed notable growth, with imports totaling USD 3.20 million, up 34.9%. Impress, on the other hand, experienced a decline of 30.6%, with imports dropping to USD 2.61 million. Imegasa reported significant growth of 56.0%, reaching USD 2.17 million. The “Others” category showed a modest increase of 3.9%, totaling USD 674,328.

Novopan was as usual the largest importer, with a 14.2% increase, bringing in USD 14.94 million. Aglomerados Cotopaxi saw a decrease of 26.7%, with imports totaling USD 1.49 million.
