BRAZIL – Duratex received the Green Energy Seal, in recognition of its use of energy from biomass bagasse in their operations.
Between May and November 2014, the company used this type of energy in its factories of Agudos, Botucatu, Itapetininga and Tacuarí. “The seal strengthens our position to seek and strengthen partnerships with generating sources whose main objectives are to supply sustainable energy in a competitive way,” said coordinator Adriano Plaça Duratex energy.
In its first edition, the Green Seal is the result of the cooperation agreement signed between the Union of the Sugarcane Industry Association (UNICA) and the Chamber of Commerce (CCEE). In a ceremony held on January 26, factories producing bioenergy from sugarcane and consumer companies were recognized. Among them, Duratex and Noble, the plant from which the biomass energy was purchased.
