FINLAND – The Board of Directors of Raute, a global leading maker of veneer, plywood and LVL technologies, has approved a plan to merge its wholly-owned subsidiary, Hiottu Oy, into Raute Corporation.
The merger is set to take place on December 31, 2024.
Raute first acquired 80% of Hiottu Oy in 2020 and completed the acquisition of the remaining 20% in 2023. Hiottu has contributed significant digitalization expertise to Raute, particularly in machine vision and AI. The merger aims to streamline the Group’s structure and boost efficiency.
Founded in 2005 and based in Oulu, Finland, Hiottu specializes in industrial software, machine vision, and web programming. Its services help industrial clients enhance production processes, safety, and quality control.
Markus Sirviö, EVP of Raute’s Analyzers unit, said, “This merger is a natural step forward. We’re excited to offer even stronger software and vision solutions with Hiottu’s expertise.”
Hiottu CEO Satu Lapinlampi noted, “The merger presents new opportunities to serve our clients better and expand our reach. Although Hiottu will operate under the Raute brand, our commitment to innovation remains unchanged.”
