ITALY – SCM and Springa, a startup focused on digital manufacturing tools, have partnered to distribute the Goliath CNC, a portable milling machine for large-scale projects.

The Goliath CNC will be sold globally under the name “scm maker” through SCM’s distributor network and e-shop.

SCM is also backing Springa’s equity crowdfunding campaign with a €300,000 investment for R&D and industrial production over two years. The campaign, running on CrowdFundMe until October 12, 2024, aims to raise €2.2 million.

“SCM is committed to innovation and invests 7% of its annual turnover in R&D. We support promising projects like Springa’s to enhance the wood sector,” said Pietro Gheller, Director of SCM Group Wood Division. “We are excited to distribute the Goliath CNC and explore future collaboration.”

Springa’s CEO, Lorenzo Frangi, added, “The support from SCM validates our technology and provides a growth opportunity. Our crowdfunding campaign aims to solidify our market position and advance our production.”

The initiative will leverage Fleap S.p.A.’s blockchain-based technology for managing digital assets and corporate processes.
