BELGIUM – BELGIUM – Felix Schoeller and other leading European decorative paper manufacturers have expressed strong support for the European Commission’s decision to launch an anti-dumping investigation into decorative paper imports from China.

1092ANTIDUMPINGThis initiative, announced in Brussels, follows a collective complaint filed by these manufacturers, including Felix Schoeller, highlighting unfair pricing practices that undermine the EU market. The manufacturers contend that such practices pose significant harm to the European decorative paper industry, necessitating swift and effective measures to restore fair competition.

Hans-Christoph Gallenkamp, CEO of Felix Schoeller, emphasized the importance of maintaining open and fair competition in the market economy. He stressed that the European industry’s development hinges on these principles and underscored the need for anti-dumping actions to ensure compliance and fairness among all industry stakeholders.

Decorative paper plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of wood-based materials used in furniture, flooring, and interior design, contributing to durable consumer goods and supporting jobs across Europe. The industry’s annual production of approximately 390,000 tonnes underscores its economic significance and the need for robust trade policies that protect European interests while promoting market competitiveness and stability.
