Peruvian Furniture Imports Grow in 4M-2024

PERU – In the first four months of 2024 (4M-2024), the value of Peruvian imports of wooden furniture reached USD 15.28 million, registering an increase of 8.1% compared to the same period of the previous year (4M-2023: USD 14.14 million).

1090PERÚ Brazil, as is common, maintained its position as the main supplier of wooden furniture to the Peruvian market in 4M-2024, contributing USD 9.75 million, which accounted for 63.8% of the country’s total wooden furniture imports.

After Brazil, China supplied wooden furniture worth USD 1.79 million in 4M-2024, down 4.4% from USD 1.87 million in 4M-2023.

Among the main Peruvian importers of wooden furniture during this period, Homecenters Peruanos (Promart stores) stood out with imports of USD 3.67 million, while Tiendas de Mejoramiento del Hogar (Sodimac/Maestro), imported furniture worth USD 3.0 million. These figures represented an improvement of 19.5% and a drop of 15%, respectively, compared to 4M-2023.

The combined imports of the two main home improvement chains in the country (Promart and Sodimac/Maestro) constituted 43.7% of total Peruvian wood furniture imports in 4M-2024, marking a decrease from the 46.7% share they had in 4M-2024.
