ECUADOR – In the first quarter of 2024 (1Q-2024), Ecuador imported decorative papers for wood panel surfaces amounting to USD 7.27 million, down by 14.3% from the same period last year (1Q-2023: USD 8.48 million).

Schattdecor and Coveright were the primary suppliers in 1Q-2024 with USD 1.89 million and USD 1.79  million respectively. This marked a significant decline of 34.4% for Schattdecor and a notable increase of 60.7% for Coveright.

Spain (USD 2.47 million), Italy (USD 1.89 million), and Brazil (USD 1.58 million) were the top three supplier countries of decorative papers to the Ecuadorian market in 1Q-2024.

Novopan del Ecuador, one of Latin America’s largest manufacturers and exporters of MDP particleboard, led decorative paper imports in 1Q-2024 with USD 6.60 million, down by 13.05% compared to 1Q-2023 (USD 7.59 million).
