TURKEY – Francisco Ruiz-Tagle, CEO of CMPC, was named International CEO of the Year at the Fastmarkets Forest Products PPI Awards 2024, held in Istanbul, Turkey.

These awards are the only global recognition for achievements in the paper and pulp industry. Ruiz-Tagle is the first Chilean to receive this honor.

Under his leadership, CMPC achieved significant milestones, including the certification of over 95% of its forest assets under sustainable forest management and more than 90% of the energy used in its operations coming from renewable sources.

CMPC also won the “sustainability leadership” category, surpassing Amcor, Klabin, MEPCO, Smurfit Kappa, and Suzano. The recognition is part of the company’s implementation of a 2030 business strategy with five core pillars, one of which is sustainability.

CMPC has set specific environmental goals to lead the industry in ESG indicators and promote social development, positioning itself as a change agent in the sector.
