Slight Decrease of Ecuadorian Particleboard Exports in 2M-2024

ECUADOR – In the first two months of 2024 (2M-2024), Ecuador’s particleboard exports (PB/MDP) amounted to USD 34.08 million, marking a slight decrease of 0.8% compared to the same period last year (2M-2023: USD 34.37 million).

1076ECUADORLeading the exports in 2M-2024 was Novopan del Ecuador, the region’s primary PB/MDP exporter, with exports totaling USD 19.18 million, representing 98.85% of the total PB/MDP exports during this period. However, this figure reflects a marginal decline of 1.1% from the previous year.

Colombia remained the primary foreign market for Ecuadorian particleboard, with shipments worth USD 19.18 million in 2M-2024. Despite its prominence, this represented a decrease of 6.2% compared to the same period of last year (2M-2023: USD 20.46 million).

Peru was again the second most significant foreign market for Ecuadorian particleboard in 2M-2024, purchasing goods worth USD 11.55 million. However, this figure marked a 4.3% decline from 2M-2023 (USD 12.07 million). Together, Peru and Colombia accounted for 90.2% of the total value of Ecuadorian particleboard exports in 2M-2024, a  decrease from 94.7% in 2M-2023.
