USA – Roseburg Forest Products announced the permanent closure of its Missoula, Montana, particleboard plant on May 22, 2024.

“The decision to close a plant is always tough, especially with Missoula, as we conclude our departure from the particleboard market,” said Stuart Gray, Roseburg’s CEO. “Unfortunately, Missoula’s older technology isn’t cost-competitive in a market filled with modern facilities.”

With a focus on other segments like MDF and lumber, Roseburg remains committed to growth, evident in recent investments in Oregon and North Carolina valued at more than USD 700 million.

The closure affects approximately 150 employees, with Roseburg pledging support to facilitate a smooth transition for impacted workers.
