TURKEY – The renowned IMA Schelling Group, globally recognized for its precision machinery and solutions in furniture manufacturing, has inaugurated a subsidiary in Istanbul to enhance its presence in the thriving Turkish market.
With Turkey’s furniture industry witnessing substantial growth, projected at nearly USD 8 billion in turnover for 2024 with an anticipated annual growth rate of almost nine percent over the next five years, the decision to establish a local presence underscores IMA Schelling’s commitment to serving its customers more effectively.
Enes Morkoc, Director of Service at IMA Schelling Istanbul Makina Ltd Sti, highlights the significance of Istanbul, where a significant portion of their machines is in operation, prompting the establishment of the subsidiary in January 2024, strategically located on the Anatolian side of the Bosphorus.
The newly launched site offers comprehensive support to Turkish customers, including service, spare parts assistance, and new machine installation. Plans for expanding the team with additional service technicians are underway to further enhance customer support capabilities.
Simon Waterbaer, Director of Sales at IMA Schelling, underscores the company’s optimism regarding the Turkish market’s growth potential. In addition to the subsidiary launch, IMA Schelling will showcase its cutting-edge solutions at the Woodtech trade fair in Istanbul from October 12 to 16, 2024, reaffirming its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the Turkish market.
IMA Schelling has a global network of 16 subsidiaries and 70 sales partners and operates four production sites in Germany, Austria, Poland and Slovakia. In 2021, the plant engineering company generated total sales of more than 300 million euros with 1,750 employees worldwide.
