COLOMBIA – The value of Colombia’s wood furniture exports was stable in 2023 reaching USD 60.10 million. This value represented a small decrease of 1.0% compared to 2022 (USD 60.69 million).
In terms of destinations, Panama, surpassed the United States, becoming the primary external market for Colombian wood furniture in 2023, with shipments totaling USD 14.33 million, a 66.4% increase from 2022. The US and Dominican Republic followed with reaching 13.56 million and USD 5.27 million.
Despite a 18.7% decrease, RTA Muebles was again the top wooden furniture exporting company, with shipments totaling USD 11.30 million in 2023, compared to USD 13.91 million in 2022, capturing a 18.8% share of Colombia’s total wood furniture exports.
Muebles Jamar emerged as the second furniture exporting company in the country, with shipments reaching USD 9.38 million in 2023, compared to USD 4.24 million in 2022, marking the highest growth rate (121.3%) among the countries top 5 exporting companies.
Followed by IMA with exports of USD 5.93 million, reflecting a drop of 18.6% with respect to 2022.
Other leading exporters were Maderkit, Ind. de Muebles del Valle (Inval) and CDI Exhibiciones with exports of USD 2.73 million, USD 2.25 million and USD 2.06 million, respectively.
