Kronospan Completes Purchase of Particleboard Plant from Roseburg

USA – Kronospan, a prominent manufacturer of wood panel products, has officially completed the acquisition of Roseburg’s Simsboro, Louisiana, particleboard facility. The transfer of ownership from Roseburg to Kronospan has been finalized following the required regulatory review period.

1065KRONOSPAN The acquisition of the Simsboro particleboard facility is expected to significantly boost Kronospan’s wood panel production in North America. The company is committed to modernizing the facility in the post-acquisition period, drawing on its successful track record from previous acquisitions.

Hans Obermaier, CEO of Kronospan’s North American operations, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “This marks a significant milestone in the growth of Kronospan’s North American business, allowing us to expand our presence in the particleboard and TFL markets. We look forward to enhancing our service to both existing and future customers. The Simsboro site, with its longstanding history in the particleboard industry, aligns well with our growth portfolio. Aspart of the acquisition, Kronospan will retain all 182 team members at the Simsboro facility. Both companies are committed to ensuring a seamless transition for vendors, suppliers, and customers.

Roseburg President and CEO Stuart Gray expressed optimism about the transaction’s impact on the Simsboro plant and its community, stating, “This bodes well for the future of the high-performing, well-managed Simsboro plant and its team members. The new owners have demonstrated a commitment to investing in the facility for the long term, which is positive news for everyone involved.”
