COLOMBIA – The value of Colombian imports of wooden furniture saw a 13.1% decrease in the first seven months of 2023 (7M-2023), dropping from USD 19.09 million in 7M-2022 to USD 16.59 million in 7M-2023.
China remained the top supplier of wooden furniture to the Colombian market, with shipments totaling USD 4.34 million, despite a significant 42.3% decline compared to the same period last year (7M-2022: USD 7.52 million).
Brazilian wooden furniture exports to the Colombian market also experienced a substantial decrease of 31.2%, falling from USD 5.89 million in 7M-2022 to USD 4.05 million in 7M-2023.
Spain and Italy followed with shipments of USD 2.67 million and USD 1.10 million, respectively to the Colombian market.
In 7M-2023, Sodimac Colombia maintained its position as the leading importer of wooden furniture in the country, despite a 53.7% decline in its imports, going from USD 4.81 million in 7M-2022 to USD 2.23 million in 7M-2023.
