AUSTRALIA – Australian Panels, has entered into a fifth collaboration with Siempelkamp to establish a particleboard production line scheduled for construction from 2025.
According to Siempelkamp, Australian Panels is investing in expanding its operations in Mount Gambier, located in the southeastern region of the Australian state of South Australia, halfway between Melbourne and Adelaide. This new particleboard production line, manufactured by Siempelkamp and boasting an annual capacity of over 650,000m³, is poised to become the largest of its kind in Australia. Siempelkamp will be responsible for the supply of the forming and press line, inclusive of the 8ft x 55.5m ContiRoll with NEO infeed, along with the cooling and stacking line.
Back in 2016, the Australian company ordered a particleboard line with an almost identical scope for its site in New South Wales. This press was shorter than the one designed for the current project, measuring at 8ft x 50.4m. Australian Panels’ most recent order, in 2019, was for an 8ft x 18.8m medium-density fibreboard (MDF) line with ContiRoll, designed for thin board production.
“We are pleased to be working with our Australian customer to complete the ‘Big Five’ of their plant portfolio. Being involved in a project of this scale is a great compliment for everyone in our group,” said Samiron Mondal, managing director of Siempelkamp Group.
