GERMANY – In spite of the current challenging market conditions, Nolte Küchen, one of the largest kitchen furniture manufacturers in Germany, is committed to its investment plans.
Following the groundbreaking ceremony for a new office and bistro building at their Löhne location, Nolte Küchen is now embarking on an expansion project in Melle. The objective is to construct two new production facilities and an directly attached, fully automated high-bay warehouse for worktops. This move will add approximately 13,700 square meters of net floor space to the family-owned business’s production and storage area.
The adoption of a fully automated packaging system for worktops using 100% cardboard will further enhance the efficiency of production processes. The new building is designed with sustainability in mind, adhering to KfW 55 construction standards, featuring complete LED lighting, and utilizing heat supplied by the company’s own boiler system.
The construction phase commenced in August 2023, with an expected duration of one year. Completion is scheduled for August 2024. Modern machinery will be delivered and installed in the autumn of 2024, with the new systems fully operational and customer order production commencing in the spring of 2025. This expansion will provide Nolte Küchen with a combined production area of 126,000 square meters across the Melle and Löhne locations.
