ITALY – More than 2,500 visitors from various parts of Europe, Asia, North America, and South America gathered at the Scm Group headquarters in Rimini from September 28th to 30th to inaugurate the new Technology Center dedicated to the woodworking industry.
This expanded space now spans 4,000 square meters and showcases technological and digital innovations catering to a wide range of machining needs within the furniture industry, window and door production, timber construction, and bespoke joinery.
The creation of the Technology Center is part of a larger redevelopment plan that includes an additional 11,000 square meters across the entire Rimini industrial site. Additional investments, totaling an increase of 20,000 square meters, were made to enhance production efficiency at Scm sites in Monza, Piacenza, and Siena, as well as at the Villa Verucchio site of the subsidiary company Hiteco, specializing in electromechanical components.
The Grand Opening event provided an opportunity to explore the latest solutions developed by the Group to streamline integrated processes in a flexible, sustainable, and optimized manner.
There was significant interest in automation systems designed to assist companies in the industry, particularly as they face a growing shortage of qualified technicians. Many visitors also sought to discover new software and digital services. In the Technology Center’s Digital Control Room, attendees learned how Industrial IoT and machine learning are transforming customer care. Data from machines connected worldwide to Scm’s IoT platform is analyzed and processed using advanced digital technologies and Scm’s Service team’s expertise. This enables customers to receive personalized proactive and predictive assistance and advisory services to ensure operational continuity.
