CHILE – The value of Chilean plywood exports in the first four months of 2023 (4M-2023) was USD 129.61 million.
This value was 24.4% below the value recorded in the same period of the previous year (4M-2022: USD 171.46 million).
The United States was the main foreign market for Chilean plywood in 4M-2023 with shipments worth USD 73.40 million, 12.4 percent below what was shipped in 4M-2022 (USD 83.76 million).
Mexico and the Netherlands followed as the second and third largest external markets for Chilean plywood in 4M-2023 with shipments valued at USD 16.48 million (4M-2022: USD 17.79 million) and USD 6.68 million (4M-2022: USD 11.40 million) respectively. This represented drops of 7.4 percent and 41.4 percent, respectively.
The main exporters were Arauco, CMPC, Eagon Lautaro and Tulsa.
