SPAIN – The value of Spanish particleboard exports (PB / MDP) reached USD 179.19 million in the first four months of 2023 (4M-2023).

This represented an improvement of USD 36.88 million or 6.4 percent compared to 4M-2022 (USD 142.31 million).

Portugal, with a 14.5 percent improvement from USD 42.12 million in 4M-2022 to USD 48.24 million in 4M-2023, was as usual the main foreign market for Spanish PB/MDP.

Spanish PB/MDP shipments to France practically quintupled, reaching USD 34.68 million in 4M-2023 (4M-2022: USD 7.27 million), positioning France as the second most important foreign market for the Spanish chipboard.

Peru was the third most important foreign market for the Spanish PB / MDP and the main Latin American market. Shipments to Peru in 4M-2023 reached USD 16.37 million, representing a decrease of 5.6 percent compared to the same period of 2022 (4M-2022: USD 17.34 million).  

Mexico and the Dominican Republic followed as the main markets in Latin America with PB/ MDP shipments of USD 4.38 million and USD 3.25 million respectively, representing significant improvements of 216.6 percent and 63.5 percent.
