COLOMBIA – The value of Colombian imports of wooden furniture saw a 21.2 percent decline in the first four months of 2023 (4M-2023).
From USD 12.49 million in 4M-2022 to USD 9.84 million in 4M-2023.
Brazil overtook China as the main supplier of wooden furniture to the Colombian market with shipments of USD 2.49 million, despite a 33.2% drop compared to the same period of the previous year (4M-2022: USD 3.73 million).
Exports of Chinese woode furniture to the Colombian market fell sharply (-59.4 percent) from USD 5.72 million in 4M-2022 to USD 2.32 million in 4M-2023.
They were followed by Spain and Canada with shipments of USD 802.1 thousand and USD 708.6 thousand. This represented significant growth of 368.2 percent and 385.5 percent, respectively.
In 4M-2023, Sodimac Colombia remained the main importer of wood furniture in Colombia, despite a 64.5% drop in imports, from USD 3.98 million in 4M-2022 to USD 1.41 million in 4M-202.
