SPAIN – AMC, the Spanish Kitchen Furniture Association, has reported a 17% year-on-year increase in turnover for its kitchen furniture manufacturing members in 2022, while that of the other member companies rose by 8.28%.
Thus, the Spanish kitchen equipment sector as a whole, represented by AMC, closed 2022 with a 10.36% increase in turnover compared to 2021.
If we take into account last year’s results according to the different kitchen sector represented in AMC, the 17% growth experienced by kitchen furniture manufacturers was followed by the 15% increase recorded by distribution companies. In the case of household appliance manufacturers, turnover rose by 12.26%, while component manufacturers saw their turnover increase by 9.86%.
As for countertop companies, their sales rose by 6.67% in 2022, and those of hardware by 5.85%. Table and chair manufacturers saw an increase of 3.11%. And in the case of software firms, growth was practically flat.
Despite these positive figures, however, AMC points out that profitability is slightly lower. This is due to the increase in associated production costs, such as energy, some raw materials and transport.
With regard to the main foreign destinations of Spanish kitchen furniture, France, Portugal and the United States took the top three places, accounting for almost 77% of total Spanish exports.
France bought Spanish kitchen furniture worth 115.38 million euros, a 13.50% increase. Portugal, with 24.58 million euros, experienced a growth of 41.90% and the United States, with 17.79 million euros, 33.80%.
