GERMANY – Bauhaus has caught up with the previous market leader Obi in the sales ranking in the German home improvement market (DIY) in 2022.

Initial data show that both companies achieved sales of around EUR 4.4 billion in Germany in 2022, after Obi grew by 4.4 percent and Bauhaus by around 6.0 percent.

The top six retailers in the German home improvement  sector increased their sales by 7.8 per cent, resulting in a combined turnover of EUR 20.21 billion.

The ranking otherwise remains unchanged. Obi and Bauhaus were followed by Hornbach (EUR 3..9 billion), Rewe (EUR 3.1 billion), Hagebau (EUR 2.9 billion) and Globus (EUR 1.9 billion) in sixth place.
