The value of Ecuadorian imports of decorative papers for wood panel surfaces reached USD 48.10 million in 2022.

That represented an increase of 39.2 percent over the previous year (2021: USD 35.07 million).

Likewise, with respect to 2019 (pre-pandemic), Ecuadorian imports of decorative papers for laminating wood-based panels presented a remarkable growth of 116.8 percent (2019: USD 22.25 million).

Novopan del Ecuador, one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of MDP particleboard in Latin America, was the leading importer of decorative papers in 2022 with USD 45.59 million, 39.2 percent more compared to 2021 (USD 31.48 million) and 142.3 percent more than in 2019 (USD 18.97 million).

Impress and Schattdecor were the top suppliers in 2022 with USD 17.91 million and USD 16.61 million respectively representing increases of 16.5 percent and 66 percent respectively.

Austria (USD 17.45 million), Italy (USD 14.54 million) and Spain (USD 9.30 million) were the three main countries supplying decorative papers to the Ecuadorian market in 2022.
