ECUADOR – The value of Ecuador’s particleboard (PB/MDP) exports reached USD 185.09 million in the first ten months of 2022, representing an increase of 14.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year (10M-2021: USD 161.53 million).
The positive export performance in 10M-2022 was led by Novopan del Ecuador whose exports reached USD 182.96 (10M-2021: USD 159.52 million) and accounted for 98.8 percent of total exports in the period.
The main foreign market for Ecuadorian particleboard was Colombia. With shipments in 10M-2022 worth USD 109.49 million to the neighboring country, representing an improvement of 28.4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year (10M-2021: USD 85.28 million). Shipments to Colombia accounted for 59.2 percent of the total.
Peru was the second most important foreign market for the Ecuadorian particleboard in 10M-2022. With purchases of USD 59.28 million and an increase of 6.4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year (USD 55.71 million). Peru together with Colombia accounted for 91.2 percent of Ecuador’s particleboard exports in the first ten months of 2022.
