BRAZIL – According to the report on furniture exports released by Movergs, Rio Grande do Sul (RDS) remains in the lead as the main furniture exporting state in Brazil with USD 171.5 million and a 29.2% share, in the January – October period of this year.
Compared to the same period last year, exports by RDS increased by 2.1% in value and 2.9% in participation.
The main countries that imported furniture from RDS were the UK (USD 24.8 million), Uruguay (USD 21.7 million) and Peru (USD 20 million). Overall total exports of Brazilian furniture, totaled in the period USD 588.3 million, and Argentina remains the dominant destination, ahead of the U.S. and UK.
