Strong Increase in Brazilian Particleboard Exports in 5M-2022

BRAZIL – The value of Brazilian exports of particleboard (PB / MDP) reached USD 55.70 million in the first five months of 2022 (5M-2022).

It was a significant increase of 45.5 percent compared to USD 38.27 million exported in 5M-2021. And a 61.2 percent increase compared to the USD 34.65 million exported in the same period of 2019.

Brazilian exports of PB / MDP to Peru (USD 16.52 million), China (USD 13.57 million) and Colombia (USD 9.97 million), the three main foreign markets, had a remarkable growth in the period. Growing 75.6 percent, 151.3 percent and 69.9 percent respectively and accounted for 72.3 percent of total exports in 5M-2022 (5M-2021: 54.3 percent).

Brazil’s PB / MDP exports to Bolivia reached USD 7.56 million in 5M-2022, 56.2 percent more than in the same period of 2021 (USD 4.84 million)

Santa Catarina, with PB / MDP exports of USD 22.52 million 5M-2022, surpassed Rio Grande Do Sul (USD 17.18 million ) and was the leading Brazilian PB / MDP exporting state in the first five months of 2022.

They were followed by Sao Paulo, despite a 4.7 percent drop from USD 6.23 million in 5M-2021 to USD 5.94 million in 5M-2022.
