COLOMBIA – With the presence of more than 10,000 visitors touring the halls of Colombia’s most important fairgrounds, interzum bogotá, the Forestry, Furniture and Wood fair, an event organized by Corferias and Koelnmesse, ended with business expectations of more than USD 3 million for this version.
This event offered a wide range of new market trends and the most recent developments in the field of innovation under the umbrella of sustainability. Therefore, for the organization of interzum bogotá, Forestry, Furniture and Wood fair, the high influx of foreign and domestic visitors was gratifying, and all were surprised with an event conducive to the updating of knowledge.
Juan Miguel Vásquez, director of Fedemaderas added that: “four days of interzum bogotá, Furniture and Wood fair, constituted an enormous opportunity for business, contacts and dissemination of the latest technologies. Colombia has 528,500 hectares planted, compared to a potential of 7 million hectares suitable for planting trees for commercial use. Consequently, there is an enormous opportunity for growth, job creation, business consolidation with social impact, and most importantly, the consolidation of a social conscience in the final consumer that legitimizes the demand and use of legal wood.
The 120 exhibitors participating in the fair expressed their satisfaction with the experiences lived during the days of the event, as was the case of the Spanish company Suministros Lomar who in the voice of its representative Andrés Yago Disla said: “we are satisfied with interzum bogotá because we found a massive audience and serious businessmen with whom we closed good business, a fact for which we hope to return in a next version”.
