BRAZIL – In January, Placas do Brasil reached the volume of 1,000,000 m³ of MDF produced since the startup of the plant on June 11, 2018.
The expressive production mark of the industry located in the municipality of Pinheiros, in Espírito Santo, Brazil collaborates in the generation of new business and the growth of the local and state economy.
Placas do Brasil has already established itself as an important national player and holds about 7% market share.
According to Luis Cordeiro, President of the Board of Directors of Placas do Brasil, in addition to having solved a weakness in the furniture industry in Espírito Santo, which brought MDF from other states, imposing heavy logistical costs and consequent loss of competitiveness to Espírito Santo furniture makers, it has also contributed to the generation of jobs, income, and taxes in the northern region of the country.
“What led our industry to reach this mark in production was certainly the combination of the courage of the shareholders and forestry partners, who believed in our project, the correct choices in the acquisition of embedded technology, the commitment of employees and the preference of furniture makers, architects, storekeepers, cabinetmakers and end customers who adopted Brazilian MDF boards as a synonym of beauty and quality in their homes and work environments”, says Luis Cordeiro.
