Arauco buys 20% of Stora Enso’s stake in the company Arauco Florestal Arapoti

BRAZIL – On December 2, 2021, Arauco Do Brasil signed and closed a transaction with Stora Enso Amsterdam B.V. whereby the latter sold to Arauco all of its shares in Arauco Florestal Arapoti S.A. .

964ARAUCOThe shares sold by Stora Enso to Arauco corresponded to 20% of the capital stock, and the price paid for them amounted to BRL 294.5 million (USD 51.9 million).

Prior to this transaction, Arauco already owned 80% of the shares of the company Arauco Florestal Arapoti S.A.

Arauco Florestal Arapoti S.A. is a forestry company incorporated under Brazilian law, with approximately 49,000 hectares of forested land, of which 28,000 hectares are planted, located in Paraná, Brazil.

Arauco offers the industry’s broadest selection of composite panels, including MDF, particleboard and HDF, premium plywood, sawn lumber and wood pulp.

Stora Enso is a Swedish-Finnish pulp and paper company formed from the merger of the Swedish mining and forestry company Stora and the Finnish forestry company Enso-Gutzeit Oy. It is headquartered in Helsinki, has approximately 46,000 employees and the Finnish state is its main shareholder.
