SPAIN – The National Association of Furniture Manufacturers and Exporters of Spain (ANIEME) has presented the report on the results of foreign trade in the Spanish furniture sector for the period January-September 2021.
International sales of the furniture sector continue to grow at a very good pace. During the first nine months of the year, Spanish furniture exports show a clear recovery and continue the growth trend with an increase of 33.5% exceeding EUR 1.9 billion euros, this despite the high increase in the price of raw materials and the cost of freight which translates into increases in the cost of the product.
Three European countries, France, Portugal and Germany, accounted for 52.1% of Spanish furniture exports, more than half of total exports, and were the main destinations for Spanish furniture during the January-June period.
France maintains its leadership as the first destination of Spanish furniture with a growing percentage over the total exported of 31.4% and an increase of 31% in the first nine months of 2021.
It is worth highlighting the excessive degree of concentration in the French market, which, on the other hand, continues to grow.
