SPAIN – The National Association of Furniture Manufacturers and Exporters of Spain (ANIEME) has presented the report on the results of foreign trade in the Spanish furniture sector for the period January-June 2021.
International sales of the furniture sector continue to grow at a very good pace. During the first half of the year, Spanish furniture exports show a clear recovery and continue the growth trend with a strong increase of 44.3% exceeding 1,281 million euros. And all this despite the high increase in the price of raw materials, as well as the collapse of maritime transport, the consequence of which has been the increase in the cost of exports to record highs.
The results of the first half of the year suggest that the pull of foreign demand for furniture will continue to strengthen the Spanish furniture sector with a foreseeable double-digit growth by the end of 2021.
Three European countries, France, Portugal and Germany, account for 52.9% of Spanish furniture exports, more than half of total exports, and are the main destinations for Spanish furniture during the first half of 2021.
