SPAIN – ANIEME has presented the report on the results of foreign trade of the Spanish furniture sector for the period January-March 2021.

935ESPAÑA At the national level, furniture exports show a clear recovery, with an increase of 16.8% in the first quarter of the year, exceeding 596 million euros.

Four European countries, France, Portugal, Germany and Italy, account for 59.4% of Spanish furniture exports, more than half of the total exported, and are at the head of the main destinations for Spanish furniture during the first quarter of 2021.

France maintains its leadership as the first destination for Spanish furniture, with a growing percentage of the total exported of 34.5% (in 2020 the percentage of concentration in France was 31.3%) and an increase of 30.7% in the first three months of 2021. The next 5 countries in the ranking account for practically the same percentage of France over the total, and from this derives the need to diversify destinations to avoid excessive concentration in a single destination.

These first four destinations are joined by the United States, which ranks as the 5th destination for Spanish furniture exports with a percentage of 5.8% of total exports and a significant growth of 23.8% in the first quarter of the year. Likewise, practically all the destinations for Spanish furniture exports have grown, with the sole exception of the United Kingdom, as a result of Brexit.
