ARGENTINA – After a detailed analysis of the situation derived from the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the health of the population, as well as on the country’s economic activity, the Organizing Committee of FITECMA – International Wood & Technology Fair, decided to postpone to 2022 the fifteenth edition of the exhibition that was scheduled from July 14 to 17 at the Costa Salguero Center of the City of Buenos Aires.
To this is added that the Government of the City of Buenos Aires allocated the Costa Salguero Property to the operation of a testing center for coronavirus and there is no scheduled date to ensure its availability to hold the fair this year.
To the current health context it must be added that the vaccination schedule does not give certainty that on the date scheduled for FITECMA 2021 it will be possible to have the massive presence of specialized visitors; nor that the transport system is enabled so that the public from the interior of the country can arrive, which historically represents more than half of the total visitors to the fair.
In addition, the consultations made with exhibiting companies coincide on the need to prioritize safeguarding the health of exhibitors and visitors, while ensuring contacts and business within the scope of the fair.
Currently, the most appropriate date for holding FITECMA in 2022 is being negotiated with the directors of the Costa Salguero Fair grounds, which will be announced as soon as possible.
At the same time, FITECMA Virtual was developed, an innovative project aligned with the services offered by the most important fairs of this sector in the world, which will be online from July 14 to 17 of this year and about which it will be reported soon.
