SPAIN – The National Association of Furniture Industry and Exporters of Spain (ANIEME) recently presented the report on the results of foreign trade in the Spanish furniture sector for the year 2020.
From January to December 2020, Spanish furniture exports show an accumulated decrease of 10%, exceeding 2,086 million euros, recovering 11.5 points compared to the figures for the first semester, in which exports decreased by 21.5%.
Specifically, in the month of December 2020, furniture exports nationwide increased by 11.2%, a sign of the recovery that is being achieved month by month.
Four European countries, France, Portugal, Germany and Italy, account for 58.3% of Spanish furniture exports, more than half of the total exported.
France maintains its leadership as the first destination country for Spanish furniture exports, with a growing percentage of the total exported of 31.3% (2019: the concentration percentage in France was 28%).
It should be noted that France has been recovering and at the end of the year its growth is 0.7% compared to 2019.
