GERMANY- Despite extraordinary challenges as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Nobilia, the world’s largest manufacturer of kitchen cabinets, returned to growth last year and thus continued its successful course.
Total turnover increased in 2020 by 82 million euros to 1,370 million euros. This value corresponds to an increase of 6.4 percent compared to the turnover of the previous year of 1,288 million euros. With this growth, Nobilia is well above the development of the industry and has once again confidently expanded its position as the market leader.
The core business, the sale of wooden parts, again proved to be determinant of growth. With 7.83 million cabinets and about 1.73 million countertops, new highs were reached. In total the two plants produced around 3,490 orders per working day. This results in an annual production of more than 783,000 kitchen orders by 2020.
In the past year, the domestic business became the main growth engine. In Germany, Nobilia generated sales of 710.9 million euros, an increase of 64.2 million euros over the previous year. In nominal terms, domestic sales increased 9.9 percent and therefore well above the market level.
In 2020, export sales increased by 2.8 percent, which compared to the previous year, increased by 17.8 million to 658.9 million euros.
