Kronospan wants to invest 100 million euros in Steinheim-Sandebeck

GERMANY – Particleboard producer Kronospan wants to significantly expand its manufacturing site in Steinheim-Sandebeck.

920KRONOSPAN According to information from Westfalen Blatt, investments of a total of 100 million euros are expected this year and next.

Among other things, a new coating plant will be built. The company sees the investment as a clear bet on Steinheim-Sandebeck.

In a time of economic uncertainty, they want to consciously invest in a countercyclical way. There are currently 250 employees on site; in the future, the new coating plant will add 60.

The company plans to start construction in April and operations could begin next year. Currently, however, applications are initially with the Detmold district government.

Kronospan operates in 46 locations. The company is the world’s largest chipboard manufacturer.

Since the large plant in Sandebeck was taken over in 1982, Kronospan has already invested 250 million euros in this location.
